On Saturday evening (01.06.2024), the joint operation of the Siegen police, the public order office and the federal police in the city center of Siegen was successful as part of the strategic manhunt. A total of 27 officers were deployed in the city center from 7 p.m. until well after midnight.
A total of 83 people and the items they were carrying were checked.
The checks resulted in four criminal charges (including violations of the BtmG), two administrative offences (violations of the Weapons Act) and nine seizures. The police also issued 12 bans.
On Friday evening (31.05.2024), a 30-year-old man was caught by police officers as part of the strategic search.
The young man, who had previously had a criminal record in the station area of the local federal police, was found in Spandauer Straße during a close-range search.
After the 30-year-old was approached there by the police officers, he fled again, but was apprehended by the police patrol a few meters further on.
The search of the man revealed a not insignificant amount of cannabis, several small clip bags and a precision scale. Due to the items found and the quantity of narcotics, trafficking was suspected. The law enforcement officers seized the drugs.
The 30-year-old is now facing charges under the Consumer Cannabis Act.
The police will continue their checks as part of the strategic search in the coming days.
