Due to a nationwide determination in the current year
the offenses of sexual assault according to § 177 StGB from October
2017 will no longer be counted as violent crime. Rape and
sexual assaults pursuant to Section 177 StGB are still included in the case figures
of violent crime. This can lead to lower monthly
numbers of cases of violent crime."
